What to submit:

Teacher Articles:
We are looking for interesting non-fiction articles about the ordinary or extraordinary. Viatouch does not accept reprints for publication into this section. Pieces should contain approximately 500 words, targeting upper elementary through high school students. We are particularly interested in articles with illustrations. Please ensure that your information is accurate. Please include a bibliography with your manuscript. The bibliography should follow the humanities style format as presented in The Chicago Manual of Style.¹   We are interested in the following areas: art, economics, geography, history, language arts, math, philosophy, psychology, science and social studies.

Teacher Lessons and Activities:
We are interested in “how to” lessons or activities such as factoring polynomials, solving simultaneous equations, writing sentence structure, or learning to draw in perspective, which supplement classroom knowledge and textbooks. Lessons should contain approximately 350 – 800 words, targeting upper elementary through high school students. Your submission should include a title, subject, grade level, objective, time needed to complete the lesson, materials, and step-by-step instructions.

Teacher Created Materials:
We are looking for visual aids such as charts, graphs, or drawings that can to be used in teaching lessons. Submissions should be visual aids that have been created by teachers.

Field Trip Lessons:
Submissions should give the overview and objective of the classroom lesson and describe what kind of field trips tie in with the lesson. Locations for field trips should be general, not local. Pieces should be approximately 500 words.

Mixed Media Applications:
We are interested in pieces that show how books, videos, journal articles, music, or plays can be used in teaching a lesson. Submissions should give the overview and objective of the lesson and show how media supplements teaching the lesson. Articles should contain about 500 words.

Parent Teacher Forum:
In this section, we are looking for “how to” articles on helping teachers and parents work together. Topics could include making the most of parent-teacher conferences, getting parents involved in their child’s work, discussing grades, and improving social behavior. Word count should be approximately 500 words.

Teaching Tips:
Do you know a way to make teaching interesting and fun? Share your tips with other teachers. Articles may cover unique ways to teach a lesson, insights to understanding or motivating students, or helpful ideas to make teaching easier. Pieces should contain about 500 – 600 words.

How to submit:
Articles should be double-spaced using a 12 point font. The texts can be pasted as an e-mail or attached as a Rich text document (.rtf). Attach photos as JPEGS. All articles should be written in the English language. Please include your name, school name, e-mail address, word count and a daytime telephone number in the body of your e-mail and on the first page of your submission. Please email all submissions and questions to submissions@viatouch.com.

Please double check your submissions for spelling and grammatical errors before submitting. Please send a brief biography along with your article for publication. If you include a link to any website that you are affiliated with in your biography, Viatouch asks for a similar reciprocal link on your website in return. Please do not send multiple or simultaneous submissions.

Rights:
Viatouch offers payment for articles at the rate of $25.00 USD per article and offers exposure to a worldwide audience. Viatouch only asks for electronic rights to the article. All other rights remain with the author. After 120 days, electronic rights revert back to the author.
